Terms and Conditions:

Under which we operate can only be varied with the agreement of the client and Budget Removals & Freight Forwarding. In confirming a booking with Budget Removals & Freight Forwarding you are acknowledging your agreement with the following terms and conditions.

Quotations:

All quotations are made with best intention and any estimates of how long a job will take, and hence the costs, are estimates only. You are liable for the full time that you use the service.
If a fixed price for the job has been given this price may be varied if:

i) the quantity of goods has increased
ii) the floors between the goods has varied
iii) the number of people to assist with the move has varied without prior notification.

Work Excluded from the quote:

Budget Removals & Freight Forwarding reserves the right to refuse removal of items from parts of premises which, in the opinion of our driver, constitute a health and safety risk to either himself or other persons.

If a driver concludes that the work cannot be carried out without damage to property or possessions but you (the client) wish for the work to be undertaken you take full responsibility for the damage and therefore waive any right to claim against our insurance.

We are a courier and removal company and our drivers are trained to fulfil their job as such. We will not under any circumstances remove any items that require plumbing or any other form of professional disconnection. All items you wish us to remove must be disconnected prior to the move.

Payment:

At the moment the preferred means of payment we accept is cash. This is because some jobs could stretch the pre-booked amount of time. This way the time is calculated and we ask you pay the driver in cash once the job is completed. The driver will issue a receipt, alternatively we can also send you a receipt via email if required. Only on certain occasions we work with invoices and accept bank transfers.

Budget Removals & Freight Forwarding is not open to negotiate price once a move has been completed. Full payment is demanded unless prior discounts have been agreed.

European moves or long routes will require a 50% deposit, paid no later than 24hrs prior to date of the move. Any cancelations due to non payment of this deposit will be subject to a £50 cancelation and administration fee.

Cancellations & fees:

Cancellation rights for consumers last for 7 working days, counting from the day after the contract was concluded.

If you (the consumer) agrees to the service starting before the end of the usual cancellation period their cancellation rights end when performance of the service starts unless you have signed a waiver of these rights.

If a contract is due to be performed more than 8 working days from the date when the contract was concluded and is cancelled there will be a 50% cancellation fee, subject to our discretion. If a contract is due to be performed more than 8 working days from the date it was made and is cancelled less than 5 hours before it is due to commence then there will be a 75% cancellation fee.

This fee will automatically be deducted from the credit/debit card provided at the time of booking, no exceptions. If bookings are being moved to another day the cancellation fee may be wavered at the discretion of Budget Removals.

Parking:

You, the client, is responsible for ensuring that we can park legally at each address.
Whilst we always endeavour to park legally if we cannot then it is a condition of our contract that you are responsible in providing adequate parking and will be responsible for any penalty we receive.

The quote provided is on the assumption that we will be able to park within 20metres of the pick up point. If we are unable to do so, we reserve the right to revise our quotation.
Our advice is that you obtain a parking dispensation, obtainable from the local authority covering each address. After the job has been completed, should we receive a penalty charge notice by camera/post at the pick up or drop off while loading/unloading as a direct result of you not providing adequate parking, then you will be required to pay the penalty charge notice in full.

Route Navigation:

All our drivers are equipped with up to date satellite navigation systems which our drivers follow to get to each destination. If you are aware of a quicker/shorter route please inform our driver and we will endeavour to follow it unless there is a height/width restriction, otherwise the driver will follow the route provided by the satellite navigation system and we accept no responsibility for how long the journey takes.

Arrival time on any job is estimated. We will do our best to be on time, but there might be delays caused by circumstances out of our control, (e.g. Weather, traffic, road block …). We do not accept responsibility for any customer losses due to out of control pick up/delivery delays. We will not offer any refunds for lateness.

Note that journey times for a normal car and a van varies as the load inside the van requires us to drive slowly, care and patience has to be applied to arrive at the destination safely thereby also ensuring also the load reaches its destination safely and securely. In addition to that our vans also can not take certain routes and tunnels due to height/width restrictions, they cannot also take shorter routes through public parks where commercial vehicles are not permitted, hence we accept no responsibility for how long the journey takes.

Insurance:

Our vans are all comprehensively insured for £10,000 Goods In Transit.

In line with the terms of our underwriters, the first £250 (excess charge) of any claim is the customers responsibility and will be required in advance to initiate the claim process with our insurance company.

It is the customer’s responsibility to pack everything properly. We do not accept responsibility for damages or breakage caused by poor packing. It is also the responsibility of the customer to fully check van thoroughly before it leaves to make sure no items are left behind. We can not accept any responsibility for loss of items once payment is received and our driver has left the premise.

Any damage must be reported and verified immediately with the driver who will provide a claim form. You must notify Budget Removals of any visible loss, damage or failure to produce any goods at the time of delivery, as we accept no responsibility for loss or damage to property after a job is complete, payment is received and our driver has left the premise.

Slots & Delays:

We always endeavour to be on time, however there are situations which are out of our control (accidents, road closures, traffic) and we ask our customers to be patient with us till we find replacement. For minor delays we have a 1.5 hour grace period from the time of booking.

Dismantling & Assembling Furniture:

Please note that with most second hand furniture there is a possibility it might not come back as sturdy once disassembled and assembled, hence we do not take any responsibility if it does-not come back to its original state.

Weather Conditions:

We reserve the right to reschedule any bookings made due to hazardous or unsafe weather conditions. This may come with an additional fee depending on the date of the rescheduled booking.
